What Is Application Programming Generation and How Does It Work?

November 17, 2025

Application Programming Generation (APG) is a method of automatically creating software programs using templates, visual logic blocks, or AI instead of writing code manually. It speeds up engineering, reduces errors, and ensures consistent programming—especially in systems like BMS, automation, and IoT.

How It Works:

Select a Template
The engineer chooses a predefined model (AHU, VAV, chiller, etc.).

Enter System Inputs
Parameters like sensor types, setpoints, and equipment details are filled in.

Automatic Logic Generation
The APG tool creates control logic, point lists, loops, and mappings automatically.

Visual Block-Based Logic
The generated program appears as drag-and-drop blocks for easy editing.

Validation Checks
The system detects missing points, errors, or incorrect logic.

Upload to Controllers
The final program is downloaded to BMS controllers for commissioning.
