Introducing a Water Flush Mode for cooling and heating coils can significantly improve your system’s health and compliance.
💡 Why It's Important:When CHW or HW coils sit idle for days or weeks (especially during seasonal transitions), stagnant water can lead to:
🦠 Microbial growth (including Legionella)
⚙️ Corrosion and scaling
🧊 Poor coil performance on startup
🔁 Flush Mode Logic:
✔️ Fully open coil valve (CHW or HW)
✔️ Circulate water for 5–15 minutes
✔️ Bypass temperature control logic
✔️ Run on a schedule or after 72+ hrs idle

🔹 ASHRAE Standard 188: Requires a Water Management Program (WMP) for Legionella risk
🔹 ASHRAE Guideline 12: Recommends flushing coils and stagnant piping regularly
🔹 ASHRAE 62.1: Encourages maintaining systems for optimal IAQ
